Sweet Dreams

Every night I go check on Brady before I go to bed and it's so hard to not just watch him sleep. I don't like to make noise because who wants to wake a sleeping baby. :) However tonight I just had to take a picture. The flash started to wake him but just enough to turn his head the other way.
They are so sweet when they are sleeping. Posted by Picasa

How cute is he?

Just too cute to not put on here. Posted by Picasa

Road Trip and Brady's 1st swim

We went to Dallas this weekend. It's our first roadtrip as a family without being emergency family related. Brady has been in the car most of his life. Take for instance that he was in 7 states before he was a month old and 3 trips to TX now. He's a great little traveler. Such a good boy.
So we met Jason's mom and youngest sister in Dallas for a longish weekend. We got there around 10:30 Friday night and left about 10:00 Sunday morning. We hung out with his family all day Saturday. His mom hadn't seen Brady since he was like 4 weeks old and Kim had never seen him, except in pictures.
After the family thing on Saturday we went back to the hotel and went swimming. Brady really seemed to like it. He was kickin a lot, more like a frog kick than a scissor kick but still so much fun. He really is amazing.
I told someone today, I find it amazing that I could want to spend so much time with someone who can't even talk. I could spend forever just watching him grow.

Da Da D and Ba Ba b

Brady talks. It's amazing to hear it, too bad it's not mama or something close but it's wonderful. We were at Target yesterday and he was "talking" up a storm. Where did my baby go? He's such a little man, getting bigger and bigger and learning more every day.
I can't believe he's talking and sitting up on his own. He'll be crawling before I can blink, then walking and off to school. Ok, so maybe not that quick but if he keeps growing as quick as this 1st 6 months has gone it will feel that quick.

Brady's First Snow

So maybe it's not REALLY his FIRST snow but it is the first time he was actually out in it without being in his car seat. Brady and I went to my parents this weekend because I started working in Chanute one weekend a month. Mom and dad get to watch Brady and I get to work.
Well anyway, while I was in Chanute it started snowing and by snowing I don't mean a few little flakes, I'm talking really really snowing. Later that evening we loaded into Dad's Bad-ass truck and off we went in about 4-5 inches of snow and still snowing. On the way home I asked dad if he wanted me to pull him behind the truck on the sled and he's like why don't I pull you. Well that was that and I figured it ended there. However when we got home dad started messing around outside and next thing I knew he was throwing warm clothes at me and telling me to get dressed. There I stood in Jason's BDU pants, DCU tops, dads coveralls, an old green coat, a head/ear wrap, a hood thing and gloves, all ready for the cold. So I got on the sled and off we went. It was so much fun, the snow was so thick that if I wasnt' in dad's tire tracks I really was plowing snow plus it was still really coming down. So that ended and dad got a great picture of me COVERED in snow but it's on their camera.
So now it's Sunday and Dad decided Brady needed to get out there and experience his first real snow. So we got him all bundled up and took him out to sit on the sled. I don't think he really cared except for how bright it was. It was so cute and he kept sticking his hand in it and we had to take it out. Then we went sledding again, leaving Brady at home with mom, at first we tried the dunebuggy but it didn't have very good traction so dad got the truck out again (Bad-Ass truck if you missed it earlier) and off we went. We went all over Coyville (where my parents live). I was chased by dogs and dragged through ditches and pulled 35 miles per hour down a snowy icy road. It was the best time I have ever had behind a truck.

Happy Half Birthday (yesterday)

Ok, so I'm a day late but I have good reasons. Brady went to his first college basketball game last night. What a great 1/2 birthday for him. Brady and I spent the morning at home together playing and sleeping (we played, he slept). Then I had to go to work and Brady to the sitter. I'm not sure he likes the sitter but it's only a few hours a week. Then we were offered K-State Mens Basketball tickets and we decided to go.
Brady got to "shake" Willies hand and of course being the great mother I am, didn't bring the camera. Oh well, we have the memories and maybe it will happen again. He was loving all the noise and the lights. He was dancing and talking. We got there at half time and I really think it ended up being all Brady could handle anyway. By the last few minutes, the crowd really got loud since we came from behind to beat Baylor. He didn't really like that but still did great.
It was nice for Jason and I too since we really haven't done much since we got back to KS. We (mostly I) had been wanting to go to a game but didn't want to spend the money on tickets so this worked out great.
I can't wait for more great milestones in the little man's life.

Growing and growing

I really think that Brady is bigger every day. It's amazing how much he has grown and in less than a week he will be 6 months old. Where did half a year go? Remember when you were young and you thought you were never going to be a "big kid" or how old your parents were? It was like time was slow and took forever to get through the school day. Now it's like we actually skip hours in the day it goes so fast. With a husband in school and me working afternoons it's as if the days slip by one faster than the next. I love to see how much my baby has grown and learned in his first 6 months but it makes me a little sad that I can remember when I'd hold him on my chest and his feet where on my belly and head at mid chest and now his feet are on my lap and head at my head.
He's reaching for those he wants and starting to not like strangers as much, though he will give you a big ol smile if you talk sweet to him. He's a ham. Nothing he does is bad, even waking up every night for the last week at 3:30 because he's hungry. If someone else woke me up at 3:30 every morning I'd be so upset but for some reason it's ok if he does it.
Too soon he will be starting to crawl and walk and talk and these days of being a baby will be over with a blink of an eye. Until then I will love him every second I'm with him.

We need teeth

We need some teeth to come in or Jason may go insane. Since Jason hasn't been in school he has been the primary care giver during the day. I LOVE that we don't have to take Brady to the sitters however, he's been an unhappy baby today. He didn't sleep and whimpered all day. Poor baby. Brady drools like a faucet and is running a temp today so maybe it'll happen soon. Until then, say a little prayer for our family that we will get some sleep tonight.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!

Happy New Year. We had a nice time. We stayed at home and did the family thing, though Brady was in bed by 9. Jason and I watched "The Break up" and played Yatzee. It was a lot of fun just hanging out doing a lot of nothing with the family.
Today my boys were tired and needed a nap. I snaped a quick pic of them snoozing together. I cleaned house while they slept and then we all just hung out. Again a wonderful time doing nothing. It's amazing to me that an entire day can go by so fast, and here I sit writing about nothing and thinking I'm going to have to go to bed soon so I can begin my week.

Jason can take pictures too

Well Jason has been home since school was out mid December and he gets bored. I came home from work the other night and Jason says "Steph you gotta check out the pictures I took of Brady." So I get the camera and here's what I saw......

Now I think Brady is the cutest baby but these don't do him justice. Hope they make you smile.
