Brady Playing

While eating breakfast I always put Brady on the floor so he can play and I can eat without little hands in my cereal. I always give him some toys and put him in reach of others. I looked down at him after getting my cereal and this is what I saw. He had got his Elmo and Dinosaur out plus he had his blocks, duck and ring stacker. He's going to be a hand full once he starts to crawl.

Jason and I have been working with him on crawling and he'll get on his hands and knees then try to move forward and faceplant. :) So cute and doesn't seem to bother him at all.
This morning while I was putting his pajamas back on he farted really loud, then got a suprised look on his face, looked at me real quick and gave me a HUGE grin. Such a boy. He has started doing that just recently, I thought the other day it just scared him a bit but now I really think it's just him being a boy. How fun, all the fun stuff to come.

Happy Valentine's Day

Happy Valentine's Day!
We had a nice day though nothing special. Jason skipped PT b/c he really just didn't want to go plus it was -10 wind chill today, makes it hard to get out of bed.
Then Brady and I went and picked him up for lunch and we had Wendy's. Well we ordered Wendy's together and then we dropped Jason off and ate separately. Jason got home around 8:20 tonight and was so tired from being gone all day we just hung out.
Brady had a long day at the Baby sitters so he was asleep by 8:00 (kinda nice since he didn't sleep at all last night). Sometimes mom's just need a tiny little break.
Jason bought me a card and a Willow Tree figurine and then he made me a Valentine at school from him and Brady.
Today is Barr's Birthday and we took him and Cassie out to eat last night. It was nice and I was on my best behavior but let me tell you Barr does not have a private out in public voice. SO super embarrassing.
I worked today and we were super busy, but that's a good thing. All in all it was a great day. The Brady man is sick with a cold so hopefully we will get some sleep tonight. Off to bed.
Goodnight and Happy Valentine's Day.

Weekend at Grandma and Grandpa's

What a strange thing to say, calling mom and dad, Grandma and Grandpa. We still wonder what Brady will call them, maybe something different like Papa or maybe traditional.
It was my weekend to work or as I call it my one weekend a month, so Brady got some quality time with Grandma and Grandpa. He has such a great time there and really seems to like his Grandpa. How could you not and maybe it's because Grandpa makes such silly noises and faces that you can't help but laugh.

Brady has a cold today, but doesn't seem to feel too bad. It snowed last night after a day of rain so needless to say it's very slick and nasty out. Luckily for us, Jason is done with school now and on his way home so Brady doesn't have to go out in this. It's amazing how you change your ways with a baby. I don't mind driving myself in slick nasty stuff but put the baby in the back seat and I'd much rather stay put.

Off to be a mommy, just wanted to give a quick update. Hope to hear from you all soon.

Superbowl Sunday

Superbowl Sunday! It's always a fun day with Jason and Kara around. Since Jason and I have been married, him and Kara have made bets about different things during the game. Well here are a few pictures of the losses. Kara had to eat Brady's greenbeans, Jason had to do the Loneranger song while "riding a horse", Kara had to sing "you are my sunshine" while wearing the lampshade and ultimately Jason lost b/c he said the Bears would win and he had to make a snow Angel and sing "Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star."
What a GREAT GREAT night.

Brady's Good

Brady's surgery went great, well as great as surgery is. We got there at 6:30 with an unfed baby. He was being so good. The only crying was when I went to put him in his car seat but I gave him the pacifier and he was good. Then we got there and while we were checking in he was flirting with the check-in lady. He's so cute. Then we had to wait and Brady did fairly well but he got tired of doing nothing and really wanted to eat so we played and I made noises with my mouth and got his belly and he forgot he was mad.
Then they called us back. Mommy trying to fight tears, walks back holding Brady and they tell us what room to go to and on the bed as I walk in is a tiny tiny yellow gown. Bring on the tears. I couldn't help it, it made me so sad to see that. We sat and I had to sign yet more paper work and then they told me to get him dressed, more like undressed. I had to take him out of his pj's and put him in the surgery gown. :( so very sad. Brady didn't mind. So while I was getting my son into the gown, in walks the anesthesiologist telling me the possible problems with the caudal block. UGH, more tears.
They then take Brady to get his temp and he's flirting with all the nurses, not even caring that I wasn't there. They gave him back to me, the Dr came to talk to me and then they took him again. This time they took him for good and I had to leave.
So I waited and waited and finally they were done. They took him at 7:20, they came out at 7:45 to say he was done and at 8:35 I got to talk to the Dr. Everything went great!!
So by 8:50 I got to go back and see him. He had a hard time wakeing up but when he did he let you know. They had me feed him and then he threw up on me all exercist like.
Finally around 11:15 we got to go home. What a LONG LONG morning. We went to get his Rx then got home and ate. Then we took a nap. We laid down together around 2 and didn't wake up until 4:45.

Can't sleep

Brady has surgery tomorrow. Not a huge deal or anything, they have to revise his circumcision b/c it wasn't done right the first time, those darn KY Army doctors. :)
Well they have to put him to sleep then give him the IV, then a tube to help him breathe and then they will do a block that will numb the penis for 8-9 hours. SO much stuff for such a little man. I hate to do it to him because functionally it works fine but I can't leave him looking like it wasn't done. Kids are mean and I heard it's hard to keep clean.
So anyway, I'm so upset about it, just the thought of them taking my baby and putting him under kills me. I know in my heart he will be ok but it makes me sick to think about it.
On top of everything he can't eat or drink after midnight so I'm about to wake him up to feed him one more time. Imagine a 6 month old not getting to eat first thing after he wakes up, not like you can explain it to him.
Send prayers and good thoughts our way about 6:30 am when we have to be there and 7:30 am when he's having surgery. Those times are central for you KY people. :)
I'll blog about it tomorrow if I have time. Who knows how needy he'll be, but he sure deserves to be.
