First day of 2 days

Brady started going to Preschool 2 days a week today. I'm off on Tuesday and Thursdays and they finally had an opening for him. So we changed him from Wednesdays to Tuesday and Thursday. I'm a little sad with him not being here but it will be good for him and me. I get some Blake time (though he is sleeping right now) and some ME time. This is the first time I've been without him and just with Blake. Something new. Brady is doing well in school and really seems to enjoy going. He wasn't really excited about today since it was new kids but he will get used to it and have a great time. Mrs. Rebekah and Mrs. Anne are wonderful. So here's to praying he loves it and they continue to love him!!

Pictures!

We also went to the first K-State game of the year. Mom, dad, Barr and Cassie also went with us. It was a lot of fun and the boys did pretty good!

September already?

Is that possible? Can it really be September 2009 already? That means my baby will be a year old next month and Jason has been back in the Army for almost a year. It also means that I will be 31 in a couple months and can no longer say I'm just 30 and have officially entered my 30s. My parents were right when they said every year it goes a little faster.
Brady started preschool on September 2. He only goes one day a week (Wednesday) for 4 hours and has only gone once. We were able to get him into an ENT Dr and the first appointment was on Wednesday and then had surgery for ear tubes yesterday. So he will really start next week! He seemed to like the first day but was not excited about Blake not being with him. Like I said he had ear tubes yesterday. He did fine. It took all of 5 minutes and it was over. They took him back to surgery in a powerwheel so he wasn't upset about going and probably before he knew we were not there he was asleep.
We went to Storytime at the Library today and Brady got to get his first Library book and even got his very own Library Card!! He was really excited and felt so important. Blake seemed to like storytime ok but he's 10 months so can't sit still and pay that much attention for too long. We met a lady and her kids from Church there so that was nice for me. :)
Over all, everything is great. Jason got back the end of July and is now at Ft. Riley working very hard and I don't feel we see a lot of him but at least he's in KS. I will post pictures of Brady's first day of school in it's own blog.

Mama Dada

Well Blake is talking up a storm. He really started "talking" in Georgia. He started saying dada and I have to admit I was like, "what the..." I'm with him all the time and he starts with dada. But I think he was just trying to make Jason feel good. :) Then soon after came mama and now that's takes up most of his vocabulary. That and nana, gaga, googoo. So cute. Right now both the boys have ear infections. Blake Left and Brady Right. UGH. Good thing though, neither of them act that sick and Brady only reason I checked on him was because he was running a temp on and off for about 2 weeks. (i'm not one to rush to the Dr.)

6mo/7mo

It seems like I have no time for anything especially the blog, though it's something I want to make more time for. I want to be able to go back and see the things my boys have done.
We got 6 month pictures taken in April these are just a couple. They all turned out really well. I can't believe how big they are getting.

During Blakes 6 mo well baby check the nurse measured his head twice because she though she got it wrong because it was so big. I told her she was probably right because they did that during the 3 month visit too. :) She didn't write down the measurement but it was off the chart.

We went to Georgia Wednesday, May 20 to see Jason. It was Blake's first flight and he did really well. It was a lot of work for me to do by myself. Thankfully Kara met us at the Kansas City airport to help and of course Jason was there when we landed. Then on the way back I had some help from the airline crew (no one helped me once on the way to GA). We had a great time. We went to Folly Beach in SC, Chuckie Cheese and just hung out together. Jason had to work Thursday, Friday and Sunday of our trip but it was so nice to just be together and at least we had the evenings. Brady had a really hard time once he realized we were leaving without Daddy but he got better as the trip went on. That is hard to watch your baby cry because he has to leave his Daddy, made me cry. Both boys slept almost the entire plane ride which was nice.
Blake now has 2 teeth and is sitting on his own and moving everywhere. Not crawling but pulls himself or rolls wherever he wants to go. He is drinking from a sippy cup and "talking" a lot. Dada, nana, mama, gaga. Lots of "words." They are the love of my life.

We have been talking to Jason a lot via computer web cam. It's so fun to see the boys get so excited to see Jason

Wedding

My sister-in-law Lacie got married this weekend in Texas. Mom and Dad took Brady, Blake and I down there where we met Jason, who flew in from GA. We left Wednesday night and got to our hotel Thursday afternoon. We took our time and took long stops on the way. Jason got there Friday afternoon and Brady was so excited. We did a few things, got to swim, took naps then off to the reception, got back and went to bed. Got up Saturday, Brady and Jason swam while Blake and I went to get a wedding gift then got back, showered and left for the wedding. Brady did ok considering he had not napped or eaten. He looked amazing. Blake did good but was so tired. Blake fell asleep as soon as we got in the car to head toward the reception. Reception was nice then back in time to get in bed. Got up Sunday, packed and left. It was so nice to see Jason.

We have one

I felt Blake's first tooth today. You can't see it yet but it's there. That may explain the crying today and not wanting to nap. Kinda makes me a little sad, just more proof that he's growing up. He can sit on his own so much better now and is rolling more. He's getting bigger by the day. Going to have to get Brady better about picking up his toys or Blake is going to get them.

Where has the last 5 months gone?

Blake rolled over today from back to stomach!! He has been going from stomach to back for awhile now but today I layed him on the floor to watch Brady eat so I could get some stuff done. Jason called and while we were talking I looked over and Blake was on his tummy just looking around. When on his tummy he is starting to try and pull his legs under him. He will be moving in no time. Guess he needs to keep up with his big brother. Brady better watch out because Blake is going to start beating up on him soon.
Blake started eating cereal a little over a month ago and I'm getting ready to start veggies. Guess I'm putting if off because I'm not ready for him to grow up.

Brady riding his Tricycle

Brady finally decided to start riding his Tricycle by himself today. He was able to steer and peddle without much help. Of course once I decided to record sirens started and he was a bit more interested in that. He did such a great job. I was (am) so proud of him. I can't believe how big he is getting and all the things he can do now.

Happy St. Patrick's Day!!

In Manhattan you have the opportunity to celebrate St. Patrick's Day for 2 weeks. You have Fake Patty's Day on March 7, St. Patty's Day celebration this year on March 14 and then the real St. Patrick's Day on March 17. With Jason gone we really didn't celebrate any of the days. My friend Christine and I did run the 10 K race on the 14th which was our first of many I hope. We never stopped running and finished the race (that was our goal) but man it was hard. The boys didn't get to go because it wasn't really warm enough for them and who was going to watch them. :) So today March 17, 2009 we all wore green in celebration of St. Patrick's Day. Nothing special, just a day of playing outside in 80 degree weather and going to Aggieville to have a sandwich as a little family of 3. Here are a couple pictures of the boys after we got home from eating.

Happy 3 Month Old Baby Boy

Blake just turned 3 months on the 22nd and is really starting to get his own personality He is such a happy baby, now of course, he has his moments but really he's happy happy. We were playing on the couch the other night after Brady went to bed and it was just the 2 of us (that doesn't happen much). He was giggling and cooing and just having such a great time. It makes me want to pick him up and just squeeze him. When I was pregnant with him, I would have thoughts about what if I don't love him as much as Brady or what if I love him more, well it's not possible. They are 2 totally different people and your heart somehow finds just as much room for the 2nd as the 1st. They are amazing boys and I couldn't ask for better ones. Sure I'm biased and there are times Brady is just bad but I have to remember he is 2 1/2 and is going to get that way. Here are a few pictures of Blakes and my adventure in laughing

Merry Christmas

Christmas 2008.

This was by far the best Christmas I've had in a long time. Now I really miss the "old" Christmas's where we would go to Grandma and Grandpa's and the entire family was there, but I'm learning that things change and I have to learn to change with them. So with that reality I gave in and had a really good time. The day started with Santa yelling Ho Ho Ho Merry Christmas and everyone getting out of bed and heading downstairs (after going potty of course, can't skip that step with a potty trained 2 year old). First thing Brady got was his suckers. He would have been fine with just those suckers. He showed everyone and wanted to eat them right away. I let him have one and I think the other one is still at Vama (Grandma) and Pop's. He really enjoyed the present process and wanted them all to be his but he did a very good job helping Vama pass out the gifts. Now it was very hard to keep tract of what everyone got Brady because there were presents everywhere and Vama wasn't stopping to let us see what everyone got. I told her next year we have to be a bit more organized as I have 4 people's gifts to keep track of so we can say proper thank you's.
Now Blake, all of 2 months old, didn't care about Christmas much at all. Jason held him or he was in his swing but he did great. Never getting too upset and only time he did get upset was before he ate.
Everyone got great gifts and had such a great time.
Jason got a Shortwave Radio, 2-way Radios and speakers for his XM radio (he loves radios). The only thing he asked me for that I didn't get him was books. He loves biography books about Presidents like Andrew Jackson and Teddy Rosevelt, boring to me but he loves that stuff. He got a Router as you can see and a bunch of other stuff. I got pots and pans from Mom and Dad, lotions, a new camera, Guitar Hero III and Mom and Dad got us a Tom Tom. I got lots of other great gifts too, lots of kitchen stuff which I love. Barr and Cassie were there all day and we even got a game or 2 of Farkle in. All in all it was a great great day.

Santa visit

Brady was so excited this year about Christmas, guess that comes with being 2. So leading up to Christmas we asked him what he wanted, he asked for a Bulldozer and a Sucker, and then if he asked for anything I told him he had to talk to Santa about that. So as Christmas got closer every time he asked for something and I said not right now, he would follow up with "I better talk Santa bout that." It was the cuttest thing ever. Well with all this talk about Santa we decided we had to make the trip to the mall to see "Santa". We got there on December 23 at noon thinking he was there all day. Well we were wrong and he wouldn't be there until 3pm. So we had to make the decision to stay at the mall and waste 3 hours or go home and come back. We decided to eat lunch and waste the 3 hours so we could be first in line and get it done. Blake slept almost the entire time and Brady did pretty good, as good as a 2 year old can do in the mall for 3 hours. About 2:40 Jason, Brady and Blake headed for Santa, I was at Victoria's Secret, not a store a boy wants to be in. Well it was a good thing we did as as soon as Jason got in line everyone else followed and by the time I got there, 2:45ish, the line was about 20 kids long and got longer every minute we stood there. So Santa got there and as you can see by the picture, not the best Santa I've ever seen, and Brady walked right up to him and sat on his lap and began telling Santa what he wanted. He sat there for a long time talking to Santa. After it was all over he got a set of paper antlers and thought it was the coolest thing ever. For whatever reason I didn't get a picture of him with the antlers on. We decided not to have Blake sit on his lap this year as he was asleep and really didn't need to talk to Santa, everyone knows babies are good.
